Why isnt my dishwasher washing dishes?

the water is going in, its emptying the detergent in, and then sitting there doing nothing before it empties again having done nothing. its not pushing the water around to actually wash them? is there anything i could check before i call someone to come and take a look? its a built in unit.Why isnt my dishwasher washing dishes?
the problem sounds to be that the timer is missing the wash cycle. it is also possible that the wash motor has a problem. the pump and wash motor are normally seperate.Why isnt my dishwasher washing dishes?
Since the water empties out, it's not a clogged drain.This sounds like a problem with the timer/controller. My Bosch dishwasher had a similar problem and that's what it was.
clean the filter or call the maintenance if they cost you a lot buy a new one. All equipments in the market now functioning for max. 2 years then problem starts. They all made in China.
yes definitely clean the whole of the filter and also use a dishwasher cleaner every couple weeks,the cheapest i've found are tesco's own brand at just over 2 quid for a twin pack
How often do you clean out the filter? Try this first, you will be surprised how quickly they get clogged up.
