Can chlorinated water (city water) replace dish detergent when hand-washing dishes?

Most city water contains small amounts of chlorine. Since chlorine is considered a cleaning agent, one would think it could replace dish soap to some degree.Can chlorinated water (city water) replace dish detergent when hand-washing dishes?

The short answer is NO!
Chlorine doesn't dissolve grease.
No, it's not enough to clean dishes. If it was, it would be too harmful to drink.
No, there is no sudzing action from Chlorinated water. and the levels of chlorine is not high enough to clean or disinfect anything.

I'd still use dish soap, just to be 100%. It wouldnt' get grease out like dish soap
