Is it safe to wash a dishpan previously used as a litter box and start washing dishes in it instead?

I will assume that you don't want to add to the landfill. Wash the pan out with hot soapy after. Rinse with a bleach solution of at least 1 part bleach and 2 parts water. Then rinse with hot water. Or you can use about a 1/2 cup of straight bleach and swish it around the whole inside of the pan.

Soap and water might get rid of any nasties, but better to be safe than sorry. Is it safe to wash a dishpan previously used as a litter box and start washing dishes in it instead?
That's really effing gross. If you're worried about adding to the landfill... why don't you use it as a bin for something like papers, or gardening tools. Or use it as a planter or something. If you're just worried about buying a new one... Jesus... spend the dollar fifty and get a sanitary one.Is it safe to wash a dishpan previously used as a litter box and start washing dishes in it instead?
Disgust! No that's not safe. If you wouldn't eat cat poo why would you consider washing dishes in a pan that contained it? Leave the pan to the cat and just plug up your sink for dishwashing. You'll be much better off.
If you disinfect it with hot water and STRONG Clorox it should kill any germs, but I wouldn't tell my guests before eating...
No, I wouldn't do it. You don't know what's seeped into the plastic. New dishpans can be found cheaply at Walmart or dollar stores.
whats the name of that detergent with the cleaning power of ammonia? O'de de kitty?
ick

no

spend the buck

aren't you worth it?
Yes , if properly cleaned .

Many people would find it repulsive though ... I would just get a new one .
Yes you can, but... ewww.
Define safe.
sure if you like eating cat feces..me i would throw it away and go down to the dollar tree and get another for a buck
gross, absolutely not!!

I wouldn't do it, sounds kind of yucky! A new one wont cost much, maybe a couple of dollars.
i personally wouldnt do it..
That sounds really nasty I wouldn't do it.
